| MAYOR BRUCE CAMPBELL |
|
After the untimely suicide of Mayor Hentaiman, Bruce Campbell won a shocking special election to become the new mayor of New York City. He ran on a platform that largely included a promise to capture the villainous terrorist Arsenic once and for all - dead or alive! After Arsenic was seemingly killed by the police, Mayor Campbell was lauded as a hero. But soon after, he discovered that the "Arsenic" killed was merely a doppleganger, and that the real Arsenic was still at large. Unwilling to make such an admission to the public, he covered up the fact that Arsenic is still alive, and now has Commissioner Fisher in charge a secret special force whose mission it is to find and kill the real Arsenic to avoid public embarrassment.
It might be noted that Mayor Campbell has gone a bit crazed as the years have gone by. With decades and decades of fans often confusing Bruce for his "Ash" character from Evil Dead and Army of Darkness, he himself has begun to blur the line between reality and fiction and often comes to work wearing the distinctive chainsaw arm that his character did. It's unknown at this point if Ash is the only one of his characters he sometimes insanely confuses himself with, or if he might occasionally think that he's Brisco County, Jr., Elvis or Autolycus.
First Appearance: November 15, 2007 in The Death of Arsenic
Misc: Bruce Campbell is based on Bruce Campbell.

| MISS VIOLET |
|
Violet Anderson, often called "Miss Violet," is the Mayor's secretary. She initially worked for Mayor Hentaiman, constantly having to reaffirm him that he was doing a good job, shouldn’t kill himself, and was not about to be impeached. She always tried to spin the mayor’s poll ratings in a good way, even when he’s just barely getting better approval ratings in the city than Bin Laden. After Hentaiman's suicide, Violet continued to work for the New Mayor - Bruce Campbell - and is in his secret circle of advisers who know that Arsenic is still alive. Violet appears to be an intelligent and capable assistant, and raises moral issues that the Mayor and the Commissioner generally ignore.
First Appearance: May 10, 2007 in Arsenic Must be Stopped!
Misc: When Holy Evil debuted the mayor, he had an assistant who was some pudgy white guy with a scraggly beard and whiteboy afro. His name was never revealed, but he apparently likes pizza and has a wife named Anna. Obviously he got fired or something, and was replaced with Violet. Because I didn't feel like drawing that loser.

| COMMISSIONER FISHER |
|
Though not technically part of the mayor's office, Police Commissioner Fisher is often seen consulting with the mayor in their plans to take down Arsenic. Fisher was first seen as the man that Interrobang seeks out to accuse of police complacency with Arsenic’s misdeeds. Commissioner Fisher assured Interrobang that Arsenic was not paying the police off to avoid capture, and kicked the Interrobang out. His tone with Interrobang indicated that the two have bumped into one another in the past, and that Fisher had a combative relationship with the vigilante hero / private investigator. Later, Commissioner Fisher is seen speaking with Mayor Hentaiman about Arsenic following the freezing of Arsenic’s first lab. He reveals to the mayor that Interrobang’s shattered body was found was found in the frozen wreckage (and actually shows the Mayor Interrobang’s head). While the mayor is somewhat mortified, Commissioner Fisher laughs about the situation, proving that he’s not that upset that Interrobang is finally out of his hair.
With the rise of Bruce Campbell to the position of Mayor, Fisher remains an important adviser. When "Arsenic" was cornered on top of Washington Square Arch, Fisher gave the shoot order that killed him. Only after a public declaration and celebration of the end of Arsenic's reign of terror did Fisher learn from the coroner that the man killed could not have been Arsenic. Afterwards, Campbell and Fisher agreed to a morally questionable plot to set up a secret hit squad to find and kill the real Arsenic, while leaving the public at large to believe that Arsenic was already eliminated.
First Appearance: December 23, 2006 in Interrobang’s Mission
Misc: When Violet introduces Fisher in Arsenic Must Be Stopped! , she refers to him as “the police chief” instead of “Commissioner.” This is an error on |
| MAYOR HENTAIMAN |
|
Name: Gohan Hentaiman Though his name didn't appear in the comic itself until very late, the Mayor of New York was retroactively named Gohan Hentaiman. This Mayor was a largely incompetent, inept and unable figure, constantly debating the practicality of suicide as his poll ratings continue to dip. His secretary, Miss Violet, tried to keep him upbeat... but in the end he just couldn’t handle all the pressure without having a nervous breakdown every day. And the primary cause of the Mayor’s worries? – Arsenic! The masked terrorist was wreaking havoc on New York and the mayor, despite his best efforts, was unable to do anything about it. After the Interrobang sought him out for answers, the Mayor decided that maybe vigilante “heroes” such as him and Wingnut could be his best bet in stopping Arsenic’s crime wave. But nothing has worked out for him. Constantly threatening to kill himself after every failure, Miss Violent eventually stopped taking him seriously. Until he finally decided to pull an Ernest Hemmingway and separate his brains from his skull, proving her wrong. Afterwards, a special election was held. First Appearance: December 28, 2006 in Interrobang’s Mission Misc: Holy Evil didn’t specifically intend for the mayor to be Asian, but simply drew him very poorly with constantly squinting eyes that unintentionally made him look to some like a bad Slap a Jap caricature. I decided to rectify this perceivable insensitivity by giving him a traditional Japanese name, deeply rooted in time-honored culture and not vaguely offensive anime jokes. That’s why they call me "Captain Diversity and Understanding." Holy Evil's rendering of the Mayor:
